Dignity Health,
St.Joseph's Medica(Center 1800 N.Calilbmia St.
Stockton,CA 95204
direct (209)461-6818
fax (209)461-3240
StJosephsCares.org
November 19, 2018
To whom it may concern,
On October 22, 2018 San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department Conducted an onsite inspection of
the underground storage tank located at 1909 Cemetery Lane, Stockton, CA. 95204. The following violations
were noted;
Item#214 HSC 25281.5 Unburied emergency generator fuel piping not visually inspected at least
monthly or log kept. A log was not found onsite for the month of August and September 2018.
Response; Due to the construction of new medical grade air compressors located in the same area, the
inspection logs for August and September could not be located. Our site has not had an alarm, and we do not
put fuel in the tank. This issue should not come up again.
Item#319 CCR 2635, 2637.1,2665,2712 No spill bucket, failed to contain 5 gallons, no means to keep it
empty, or failed to be tested.
Response; The direct burial spill bucket to contain a full 5 gallons is a relatively new item. Our spill bucket
passed the leak detection test on the day of inspection. We have not put fuel into this tank in more than 15 years.
We do however maintain the fuel that is in the tank. Currently a company called Tanknology has been hired to
take care of the spill bucket situation. They are waiting for a quote to replace the spill bucket. As soon as that is
received and approved, we will inform Stacy Rivera your senior REHS officer.
Thank You,
John C. Stagg
Assistant Chief Engineer
Plant Maintenance/Plant Operations
Dignity Health
St. Joseph's Medical Center
1909 Cemetery Lane
Stockton, California 95204
Office: 209.467.6308
Direct: 209.461.6818
john.stagg@dignityhealth.org
