Kennedy/Jenks Consultants <br /> • ANSI-approved safety glasses (for drilling activities) <br /> • Safety goggles or a face shield should be used when a foreseeable splash <br /> hazard exists <br /> Additional equipment will be readily available to upgrade to modified Level C protection, if <br /> necessary This equipment includes <br /> • Full-face or half-face air purifying respirator with high efficiency <br /> particulate/organic vapor cartridges <br /> • Chemical resistant gloves, inner glove - disposable PVC and outer glove - <br /> NBR/Nitrile <br /> • Boot covers <br /> • Boots, chemical resistant, steel toe and shank <br /> • Safety goggles or a face shield should be used when a foreseeable splash <br /> hazard exists <br /> The level of protection employed may be upgraded, as deemed necessary by the SSO or <br /> FSSO If the proper equipment to upgrade to level C is not available, on site operations <br /> will be discontinued until proper equipment is obtained or additional monitoring shows that <br /> level C protection is no longer required <br /> If non-routine field activities are initiated, the level of protection will be specified in the <br /> activity-specific health and safety addenda <br /> 6.2 Work Zones <br /> Work zones including designation of an Exclusion Zone, a contamination Reduction Zone, <br /> and a Support Zone will be established for any field activity which requires Level C <br /> protection or greater Work zones will be clearly marked in the field Work zones may <br /> vary depending on the proposed field activity and will be established in the activity-specific <br /> health and safety addenda <br /> 6.3 Monitoring <br /> Field personnel will perform air monitoring twice daily with a direct reading organic vapor <br /> analyzer (OVA, OVM or HNU) in the breathing zone at each work location All readings <br /> shall be recorded in field logs All direct reading instruments shall be calibrated according <br /> to the manufacturer's specifications Additional monitoring requirements for non-routine <br /> site work will be specified in the activity-specific health and safety addenda <br /> If air monitoring readings for a particular work area consistently exceed five parts per <br /> million (ppm) above background then sampling will cease and personnel will withdraw from <br /> the work area If concentrations persist above 5 ppm, then Level C protection will be <br /> required if work is to continue if readings exceed 10 ppm in the breathing zone while <br /> Sl.m"&Splen 7 910557 00 <br />
