i <br /> Kennedy/Jenks Consultants <br /> 7.0 EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLAN <br /> Hazard recognition is an essential part of the Emergency Response flan Initiation of the <br /> contingency pian relies on the employee's ability to recognize an emergency or potential <br /> for an emergency The following is a list of events which will immediately initiate <br /> emergency procedures <br /> • Explosion <br /> • Fire <br /> • Release of organic vapors or particulate above the action levels <br /> • Personal injury <br /> • Failure or expected failure of run-on/run-off control measures <br /> • Natural occurrences, i e , lightning, earthquake, tornado, high winds, etc <br /> Emergency communications will consist of three methods <br /> Verbal C mmunication <br /> • Verbal communication will be the primary method of emergency communication between <br /> onsite personnel, distance permitting <br /> Hand Signals <br /> • Hands clasped on wrists will indicate personnel to stop work and exit <br /> Exclusion Zone <br /> • Hands on throat indicates inability to breathe <br /> • Thumbs up indicates 0 K <br /> • Thumbs down indicates not 0 K <br /> Telephones <br /> Telephones are used for routine communication and to notify offsite agencies of incidents <br /> and request assistance Emergency telephone numbers are given in Table 5 <br /> When an event recognized as an emergency occurs, the SSO or FSSO will be notified <br /> immediately The SSO will insure that all personnel are aware of the emergency <br /> The SSO or FSSO will take into account the following information <br /> C Nature of emergency <br /> StmpVHBSPIon 9 910557 00 <br />
