GROUND ZERO ANALYSIS, INC.
' water was observed in test well VW-1 after 5 minutes A
vacuum ranging from 49 to 50 inches of water at a flow rate of
l 55 cfm was applied to test well VW-5 and the response was
' observed in test well VW-4 , constructed in the same boring
A vacuum of 0 5 inches of water was observed in test well VW-4
after 9 minutes A vacuum ranging from 44 5 to 45 inches of
water and flow rates ranging from 33 to 34 1 cfm were applied
to test well VW-4 and the response was observed in test well
VW-5 No vacuum influence was observed in test well VW-5 after
6 minutes During the Jong term test conducted on VW-1 no
vacuum response was observed in VW-2 until 9 minutes into the
test Likewise, 6 minutes elapsed before a vacuum was
observed in VW--1 during the long term test on VW-2 During
' the long term test on VW-4 no vacuum was observed in VW-5
These data indicate that the wellbore seals separating VW-
1/VW-2 and VW-4/VW-5 maintained their integrity and no bypass
or short circuiting occurred within the boreholes
' Vapor Test Well VW-]
During the long term vapor extraction test using test well VW-
1 as the extraction well, induced vacuums were observed in
wells VW-3 , VW-4 , VW-5 , VW-6 , and MW-13 within 3 minutes An
induced vacuum was observed in well VW-2 (constructed in the
same boring) within 9 minutes and probably represents
formation bypass No significant increase in the induced
vacuum was observed in the wells when the flow rate was
increased from 50 6 to 52 S cfm Based on these results a
vacuum of 39 inches of water and a flowrate of 50 cfm appears
to be achievable using test well VW--1 as the extraction well
A radius of influence of approximately 30 to 35 feet is also
indicated
Vapor Test Well _VW-2
During the long term vapor extraction test using test well VW-
2 as the extraction well, induced vacuums were observed in
wells VW-3 , VW-4 , VW-5, VW-6, and MW-13 within 3 minutes An
induced vacuum was observed in well VW-1 (constructed in the
' same boring) within 6 minutes The IC engine stalled when an
attempt was made to increase flow from 50 6 cfm Based on
these results a vacuum of 14 inches of water and a flowrate of
' 50 cfm appears to be achievable using test well VW-2 as an
extraction well A radius of influence of approximately 30 to
35 feet is also indicated
I
I
' 4
