DISCUSSION:
TPHG and benzene were detected in the sample collected from monitoring well MW-4_ Benzene was
detected in the samples collected from newly installed wells MW-8 (2,300 µg/L) and.MW-1b (51 µg/L).
Benzene was also detected in the samples collected from monitoring wells MW4 and MW-3 at
concentrations just above the laboratory method detection limit. MTBE was detected in the samples
collected from wells MW-4, MW-5, MW-6, MW-8, and MW-10. 1,2-DCA was detected in the samples
collected from wells MW-9 (17 gg/L) and MW-10 (4.5 gg/L). Concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons
detected in samples collected from monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-6 are generally consistent with
previous sampling events.
The groundwater flow direction on June 25, 2001 was calculated to be towards the east-northeast at a
gradient of 0.0022 ft/ft. A southeast groundwater flow direction has typically been reported during
previous monitoring events.
ATTACHMENTS:
• Table 1 Groundwater Monitoring Data
• Table 2 Groundwater Analytical Results for Oxygenates and Additional Compounds
• Figure 1 Site Location Map
• Figure 2 Groundwater Elevation Contours (2nd Quarter 2001)
• Figure 3 Groundwater Analytical Summary (2nd Quarter 2001)
• Appendix A Field Data Sheets
• Appendix B Sampling and Analysis Procedures
0 Appendix C Certified Analytical Reports and Chain-of-Custody Records
CAARC0154691Quarter1yg00I\5469-2Q01 Report.doc Delta.
8123/01
