5.700 STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS <br /> The work embraced herein shall be done in <br /> accordance with the appropriate provisions of <br /> construction details of the specifications <br /> entitled, "State of California, Business and <br /> Transportation Agency, Department of <br /> Transportation, Standard Specifications, January <br /> 1988," insofar as the same may apply, which <br /> specifications are hereinafter referred to as the <br /> Standard Specifications and in accordance with the <br /> following Special Provisions. <br /> Whenever in the contract documents or the <br /> Standard Specifications the following terms are <br /> used, they shall be understood to mean and refer to <br /> the following: <br /> Department of Transportation, or <br /> Division of Highways - Department <br /> of Public Works of the City of Lodi <br /> City Engineer - Public Works Director <br /> of the City of Lodi <br /> Director of Public Works - Public <br /> Works Director and City Engineer <br /> of the City of Lodi <br /> Engineer - The Public Works Director <br /> and City Engineer or designated agent <br /> Laboratory - The designated laboratory <br /> authorized by the City of Lodi to test <br /> materials and work involved in the <br /> contract <br /> State - The City of Lodi, California <br /> Other items appearing in the Standard <br /> Specifications, the General Provisions, and the <br /> Special Provisions, shall have the intent and <br /> meaning specified in Section 1, Definition of Terms <br /> of the Standard Specifications. <br /> 5.8 <br />
