Whenever any material is specified by name and/or number thereof, <br /> such reference shall be deemed to be used for the purpose of <br /> facilitating a description of the materials and establishing <br /> quality, and shall be deemed and construed to be followed by the <br /> words, "or approved equal ". No substitution will be permitted <br /> which has not been submitted ten days prior to installation for <br /> approval by the Engineer. Sufficient descriptive literature <br /> and/or samples must be furnished for any materials submitted as <br /> "equal " substitutes. <br /> The City will furnish the following materials: <br /> ° Double-Wall StiP3 Tanks as shown on the plans; <br /> • "Leak Alert" electronic control enclosure with remote sensors. <br /> The Contractor shall make arrangements with the tank manufacturers <br /> for delivery of the tanks. <br /> 6-04 SCHEDULING PROJECT WORK <br /> 6-04.01 Scheduling Work Prior to any work, the Contractor <br /> shall furnish the Engineer with a work progress schedule in <br /> writing delineating the anticipated work procedure. This schedule <br /> shall be kept current and the Engineer shall be notified in <br /> writing 48 hours in advance of any variation thereof. The <br /> Contractor shall also supply the Engineer with a telephone number <br /> or numbers where a duly authorized representative of the <br /> Contractor may be reached at any time. <br /> Prior to construction, a conference with the Contractor and <br /> Engineer concerning the schedule, traffic control and job safety <br /> shall be held. <br /> The Contractor shall take the following time constraints into <br /> account in preparing the project schedule: <br /> 1) Dispensers at 1331 South Ham Lane and 230 West Elm Street <br /> shall not be out of operation at the same time; <br /> 2) The new unleaded tank at 230 West Elm Street shall be <br /> installed prior to shut-down of the dispenser. The switchover <br /> to the new tank shall be done such that the dispenser <br /> shut-down is limited to two calendar days. <br /> 3) The new fuel tanks at 1331 South Ham Lane shall be installed <br /> such that the dispenser shut-downs are limited to 35 <br /> calendar days. <br /> 4) Due to other scheduled work at 230 West Elm Street, tank <br /> installation at that location shall not start until after <br /> July 25, 1988. <br /> See Section 6-04.03 of these Special Provisions regarding <br /> liquidated damages and these time constraints. <br /> 6.2 <br /> TANK6/TXTW.02M <br />
