Sail Sampling Procedures
Four soil borings were drilled around the 500 gallon
gasoline tank excavation and fourteen soil samples were
collected at various intervals from the four boring
locations at the depths shown on Table 1 and on Plate
los. 9 through 12. Three of the soil samples were
submitted for chemical analyses and the remaining eleven
samples were placed in refrigerated storage. Soil
samples were collected by advancing the boring to a point
T immediately above the sampling depth and then driving a
modified Cali ornia Sampler with three brass tubes into
the soil. The sampler was removed from the bottom of the
boring and the bottom tube was sealed with aluminum foil
and a plastic cap. The samples were immediately sorted
in an iced cooler and delivered to California Analytical
Laboratories, Inc., in Sacramento, California under
chain-of-custody at tie completion of the field work.
Completed copies o° the chain-of--custody forms are
included in the Appendix of this report.
_---- --- --- --- _To-minimize-cross-contamination,--a1-l- augers were-steam ___ -- ------------ ------ -----_,--
cleaned prior to the drilling of each borehole. .
