The concentration of benzene detected in the 16
and 26 foot soil samples from Boring B-1 were 1.1 ppm and
1.2 ppm respectively. These concentrations are only
slightly above the reported action level of I ppm benzene
in the soil.
B. Ground Water
Water samples collected from each of the monitoring wells
on August 13, 1985 were analyzed for EPA 602 compounds
(aromatic hydrocarbons) and total extractable
hydror--bons, The ground water sample from MW-2 had an
additional analysis for total lead. Gasoline related
constituents (benzene .13 ppm, toluene .042 ppm, xylene.
.1; ppm and total hydrocarbons 1.3pm) were detected in
T
low conre, ttrations the ground water sample from
Monitoring Well MW-1. Total hydrocarbons were detected
w
at the detectiot limit of
.02 ppm in the water sampled
Y collected from MW-2. These constituents were below
µ detectable limits in the ground water samples collected
from the other two monitoring wells. Low concentrations
of total extractable hydrocarbons were detected in the
ground water samples from MW-1 (513 ppm), MW-2 (.0-R ppm),
and : MW-4 ( :18_ ppm) . The concentration of total
extractable hydrocarbons detected in the water sample
from MW-2 is at the laboratory detection. limit.
