i <br /> 15 April 2002 4 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 98-0492 <br /> Page 3 of 6 <br /> + from wells MWI, MW2 and MW3 Purged ground water was containerized 1n properly labeled <br /> DOT-approved model 17H 55-gallon drums and was stored on-site Field sheets and data are <br /> included in Appendix B <br /> 2 6 WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION <br /> Ground water sampling of wells MW1, MW2 and MW3 was conducted on 08 February 2002 For <br /> the sampling event,a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in the <br /> ' three wells relative to the tops of the well casings The ground water elevations and gradient were <br /> determined from these data(Table 1) <br /> After recording water level measurements,disposable plastic bailers were used to purge monitoring <br /> wells MWI, MW2 and MW3 of standing water Approximately 5 0 to 5 5 gallons of water <br /> (a minimum of 3 casing water-volumes per well) were removed from MWI, MW2 and MW3 <br /> ' Ground water temperature,pH and conductivity were measured at regular intervals during purging <br /> using an Oakton water analyzer Purged ground water was containerized in properly labeled <br /> DOT-approved model 17H 55-gallon drums and was stored on-site Field sheets and data are <br /> lieincluded in Appendix C <br /> 2 7 COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> I ' Water samples were collected from each purged well using new disposable plastic bailers Each <br /> water sample was transferred into three 40-m1 VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18%hydrochloric acid <br /> as a sample preservative and into one I-liter amber bottle without sample preservative After <br /> collection, the samples were properly labeled, placed in a chilled container and transported under <br /> chain-of-custody to MAI The samples were analyzed for <br /> - TPH-g and TPH-d in accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified, <br /> BTEX and MTBE in accordance with EPA Method 8020, and <br /> - MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, TAME, TBA, ethanol, methanol, EDB and 1,2-DCA in accordance <br /> h with EPA Method 8260 Modified <br /> 2 8 WELL HEAD SURVEY <br /> On 05 March 2002, a California state-licensed survey engineer from Baumbach & Piazza, Inc <br /> surveyed the elevation at the top of the well casing of monitoring wells MW1, MW2 and MW3 to <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> i <br />
