Lashay stated Tod Blank, Big <br /> Lot's Asset Prevention directed the store to"hazmat"the items and label them as they were found. Lashay stated <br /> these items would be picked up by the hazardous waste hauler, however the items were not labeled as hazardous <br /> waste. <br /> a.A bottle of Craftsman Acrylic Paint. <br /> b.A bottle of Surface Preparation. <br /> c. Four buckets, approximately 5-gallons in size, each labeled as"Unknown Substance." <br /> d.A canister labeled as acetone. <br /> -An unlabeled bag containing what appeared to be used spill magic or absorbent was found in a tote labeled"Pull and <br /> Hold Do Not Sell,"located near the HW storage area. According to Lashay, spill magic is used to clean up spills from <br /> food/drink items, as well as chemical/hazardous material spills. Lashay stated that associates are allowed to clean up <br /> spills from food/drink items and dispose of the used spill clean-up material in the trash,while only managers are <br /> allowed to clean up chemical/hazardous material spills and place the used spill magic into the proper HW tote. <br /> Lashay stated she did not know who used and placed the spill magic into the"Pull and Hold"tote, nor did she know <br /> what the spill magic was used for. Lashay placed the item in a hazardous waste tote at the time of inspection without <br /> knowing what type of hazardous chemical, if any,was mixed with the spill magic.
