30 October 1996
AGE-NC Project No 96-0266
2 3 REGIONAL GROUND WATER ELEVATION
The estimated depth to ground water at this property is approximately 20 to 30 feet below surface
grade(bsg), based on information from Lines of Equal Depth of Water Wells, Fall 1995 published
by the San Joaquin County Flood Control Distract and Water Conservation District However, the
PHS-EHD records indicted that the lughest ground water elevation was observed in 1986 at 10 feet
bsg The prevailing ground water flow in western Stockton flows generally to the west, whsle
localized ground water flow may vary during winter/summer cycles
3.0. SCOPE OF WORK
3 1 PROBING AND SAMPLING
A subsurface investigation at the site is necessary to determine the lateral and vertical extent of
hydrocarbon-impacted soil and possible ground water Initially, AGE proposes to advance three soil
probe borings at the site Probe borings will be advanced to depths of approximately 20 to 25 feet
(below ground water), using direct push technology (DPT)"
One probe boring will be advanced in the center of the former registered UST (removed in May
1986),two probe borings will be advanced in the area of the unregistered UST, in Building C All
probe bonngs will be advanced using AGES Geoprobe 5400 probing unit equipped with 1 125-inch
probe rods Proposed probe boring locations are illustrated in Figure 2
Soil samples will be collected at five-foot intervals using a Geoprobe sampler and four brass sleeves
Upon sample retrieval, the second brass sleeve will be removed from the sampler The ends of the
sleeve will be immediately covered with Teflon tape or aluminum sheets, capped and sealed with
tape Each sample will be placed in a chilled container for transportation to a State-certified
laboratory Each sample sleeve will be labeled with the following boring location, depth, time, date
and sampler's initials
Grab ground water samples will be collected from a the probe boring advanced within the registered
UST using a Geoprobe water sampling assembly After collection, samples will be stored in a chilled
container and transported to a State-certified laboratory
3 2 EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION
All sampling tools and brass sleeves used for sample collection will be thoroughly rinsed with clean
water after washing with a solution of Alconox All Geoprobe rods are cleaned prior to advancement
