(PEG)on behalf of Tosco <br /> Marketing Company(Tosco),presents'a work plan to investigate soil and groundwater <br /> contamination at the above referenced site. This work plan has been prepared in response <br /> to a letter from Mr. Michael J. Infurna Jr.of San Joaq in County Public Health Services- <br /> Environmental Health Division(SJCPHS-EHD),dated April 16, 1998(Attachment.A,). <br /> Included in this work plan are a site background,description of previous investigations, <br /> proposed.scope of work(three phases),field methods and Iaboratory procedures <br /> (Attachmolit R),and anticipated schedule. r <br /> STTIE 11A�AGROUNID <br /> The pititis located at 1700 East Yosemite Avenue in DAanteca,California(Figure 1). The <br /> site is an opt <br /> xating service station and mini-mart that is unleaded gasoline fuel. The <br /> site cuAntly contains two gasoline USTs(10,000-gallon)and associated product lines <br /> and dispensers. <br /> On January 14, 1998,at the direction of Mr. Infurna( .ICPHS-EHD),PEG collected <br /> seven soil.samples from four locations beneath each r roduct dispenser. The soil samples <br /> Were collected from depths of approximately 2 to S-1 2 feet below ground surface(bgs). <br /> The selected soil samples were analyzed for total petrAeurn hydrocarbons as gasoline <br /> (TPH-g),benzene;toluene,ethylbenzene,and total xy lenes(BT'EX),and methyl tertiary <br /> butyl ether(MtBE). The maximum concentration of H-g(15,000 milligrams per <br /> kilograms(mg/kgj)was detected in sample PD-1 at 2 eet bgs.
