. 567 W. Shaw Ave., Ste B
` Fresno, CA 93704
(209) 497-2878 • FAX ( 09) 497-2886
March 9, 1998 BSK Job 01.-40-0433
F
Mr. Curt Hughes
1755 E. Yosemite Avenue
F Manteca, California 95336
SUBJECT: Workplan and Health and Safety Plan
F Soil Investigation
1755 East Yosemite Avenue
Manteca, California
Dear Mr. Hughes:
FAt your request, BSK& Associates (BSK) has prepared this workplan to perform a soil
investigation at the subject site, located at 1755 E. Yosemite Avenue, Manteca, California. Our r
knowledge of the site is based on the Phase I, Environmental Site Assessment for Curt Hughes
Dodge, 1755 and 1760 East Yosemite Avenue, Manteca California 95336 prepared by Northwest
Envirocon, Incorporated dated October 28, 1997, and conversations with you on January 13 and
February 5, 1998. It is our understanding that an underground storage tank (UST) was removed
from the site prior to your ownership of 17 years.
FTo verify the removal of the UST and the absence of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil beneath the
UST, one boring is proposed to a depth of 15 feet at the location where you have indicated
+ patched asphalt represents the removal of the UST. The purpose of the work to be performed is
to provide your lender with information to characterize the risk associated with the former UST
site on the property.
i
In the event that petroleum hydrocarbons are identified additional investigation not within this
workplan may be required. The findings of this invest gation may indicate that further work is
necessary to close the site or that a method of cleaning up the site should be designed and
I implemented.
f Scope of Services
I
BSK will perform the following tasks: ;
F!
Apply for a boring permit with the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department (SJCEHD) and contact Underground Service Alert (USA) to locate
FJutilities at the site.
F
FGeotechnical Engineering•Engineering Geology•Environmental Services•Construction Inspection&Testing•Analytical Testing
