Avoid contact with potentially contaminated substances. Do not walk through <br /> , <br /> puddles, pools, mud, etc. Avoid, whenever possible, kneeling on the ground, leaning <br /> or sitting on equipment or ground. Do not place monitoring equipment on potentially <br /> contaminated surfaces (i.e., ground, etc.) <br /> Field crew members should remain aware of potentially dangerous situations (i.e., <br /> presence of strong, irritating or nauseating odors). <br /> Prevent, to the extent possible, spillage. In the event that a spill occurs, contain liquid <br /> if possible. <br /> Prevent or minimize splashing of contaminated materials. <br /> The number of personnel and equipment in the work/exclusion zone should be <br /> minimized, but only to the extent consistent with work force requirements of safe site <br /> operations. <br /> Only personnel trained (Title 8, CCR, Sec. 51 2) and authorized are permitted to <br /> work or enter the exclusion zone. <br /> Personal protective equipment are used as specified and required. <br /> During sampling activities, the following standard safety Procedures are employed: <br /> Sampling equipment is decontaminated before proceeding to the sampling site. <br /> At the sampling site, sampling equipment are decontaminated after each use. <br /> Work in less contaminated areas should be conducted first where practical. Work <br /> t_ upwind of UST excavations, power equipment, or dril l rig, if possible. <br /> The minimum number of personnel necessary to achieve the objectives are allowed <br /> within 25 feet of the excavating, drilling, or s piing activity. <br /> If emergency and backup subcontracted personnel are at the site, they will remain at <br /> least 25 feet upwind from the exclusion zone, where practical. <br /> fJ <br /> Unauthorized personnel must remain outside trie work/exclusion zone at all times. <br /> F <br /> A-13 <br />
