INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br /> At the request of Mr Phil Elder, Advanced GeoEnvironinental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this <br /> ' quarterly report for 420 West Yosemite Avenue, Manteca, California (the site) The report <br /> documents procedures and results for ground water monitoring and interim ground water remediation <br /> performed at the site between December 2004 and March 2005 (first quarter) The site setting is > <br /> illustrated on Figure 1, site structures and monitoring well locations are depicted on Figure 2 <br /> ' The enclosed report was prepared in accordance with guidelines established by the Central Valley <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) for the investigation of underground storage <br /> tank(UST) sites Background information and a description of prior investigations at the site were <br /> included in Appendix A of Quarterly Report- Third Quarter 2002, dated 06 December 2002 <br /> The objectives of the first quarter 2005 investigation was to characterize, assess, and monitor <br /> dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons and methyl tertiary-butyl ether(MTBE)concentrations in ground <br /> water,to characterize ground water flow direction and gradient,and to continue interim remediation <br /> through ground water extraction and treatment at the site The following is a brief summary of first <br /> quarter monitoring and interim ground water remediation activities performed at the site <br /> • 30 December 2004 to 15 March 2005 - Continued pump-and-treat interim remediation <br /> utilizing on-site extraction well EW-1,discharged approximately 286,020 gallons of treated <br /> ground water into the City of Manteca sanitary sewer system <br /> • 20 January, 16 February, and 15 March 2005 - Monthly monitoring events at the ground <br /> water extraction and treatment remediation system, extraction well EW-1 was in operation <br /> • 31 March - 01 April 2005 - AGE performed a quarterly ground water monitoring event <br /> ' (fourth quarter 2004) at wells MW-1 through MW-13 <br /> 2.0 GROUND WATER EXTRACTION-TREATMENT REMEDIATION SYSTEM <br /> Between 30 December 2004 and 15 March 2005, a ground water extraction and treatment system <br /> was in operation at the site for the purpose of ground water interim remediation The ground water <br /> treatment operation and maintenance procedures for the site were outlined in AGE's Interim <br /> Remediation Work Plan -June 2001, dated 21 June 2001 <br /> r <br /> rAdvanced GeoEnvironmentai,Inc <br /> r <br />
