No monitoring or investigative work has been completed at the site. The full delineation and
extent of the contamination or the impact on groundwater has not been completed. There is a
domestic well for the property located at the northern end of the maintenance shop.
2.0 INTRODUCTION
SOIL BORING WORKPLAN /TEMPORARY MONITORING WELLS
In a team effort Del Tech Geotechnical Support (De-Tech) and Geological Technics Inc. has
been retained by Ted Peters Trucking to prepare and knplement this workplan. This workplan is
designed in scope to investigate the site, evaluate And identify the extent of the subsurface
contamination generated by the gasoline underground storage tank previously located at the site.
Don Light, Engineering Contractor #657366 of De Tech will be Project Manager and Ray
Kablanow, PhD. R.G. #5234 of Geological Technics will be the supervising Registered
Geologist during all of the activities of this workplan.
2.1 Proposed Investigative Actions
This workplan is being presented as a continued step towards the goal of achieving a County-
approved site closure at Ted Peters Trucking. Specifically, this workplan addresses the
installation of (5) soil borings to approximately 10 to 15 vertical feet and collecting (5) grab
water samples from the bottom of the borings. (See th attached site sampling map) The primary
goal is to determine the impact and extent of the vadose zone and first water interface.
Contingent upon completing this preliminary asse sment, the full extent of any possible
groundwater contamination plume would be addressec in a future workplan, if so required.
2.2 Scope of Work
The soil borings will be performed by Del-Tech Geotechnical and Geological Technics, Inc.
under the supervision of V&W Drilling of Rio Vista, CA. (C57 #658786). Due to the silty/sand
environment observed during the removal of the U. .T., hand augers will be used to collect
discrete driven cores in five foot intervals from each soil boring location. The subsurface
geologic investigation and logging of the soil borings will be completed by Michael Niemi of
Geological Technics.
Drill cuttings produced from the borehole will be placed on 6 mil plastic, covered and stored on
site until analytical results have been received. Soil screening with a photo ionization detector
will be performed to monitor the presence of volatile aromatics during the auguring of the soil
borings and a discrete soil sample will be coRected every three vertical feet for geological
classification and characteristics. The soil samples will be described using the Unified Soils
TED PETERS TRUCKING/MAIFIECA WORKPLAN
2
