4eologtcal recluucs txc Page 4 <br /> l <br /> Soil Gas Survey Report <br /> ie Protect No 701 2 <br /> July 23,2002 <br /> Gasoline <br /> The results of the soil gas survey indicate that gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons are <br /> ' present at a point approximately 75 feet northeast of well MW-7 The "green" contour <br /> representing 0 576 to 1 578 pg on the gasoline map has a southerly component that extends <br /> through the location of MW-7 to MW-8 Well MW-7 has been impacted by gasoline and <br /> BTEX but MW-8 has remained free of detectable contamination This evidence is <br /> anomalous from a correlation of soil vapor to groundwater concentration standpoint The <br /> extreme southeast corner of the map shows an increase in gasoline concentration dust <br /> southeast of MW-8 This may be indicative of the release associated with the former <br /> gasoline UST in the front of the facility <br /> The Gore report includes specific values for several chemicals Of the chemicals detected in <br /> the high node of contamination at module #402124, the highest detected concentrations <br /> ' were combined 1,2,4-trimethylbenzene & 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene (TMB 78 35 ug) and <br /> octane (OCT 60 27 µg) This suggests that the node present in this location is primarily <br /> from a gasoline related source rather than a diesel source <br /> ' The BTEX concentration map illustrates three nodes of high concentrations The nodes are <br /> located around well MW-7 and to the north, northeast and south of MW-7 The lack of <br /> nodes to the west of the property fence suggests that the sources of the contamination are <br /> restricted to the Ted Peters parcel <br /> ' MTBE was non-detect above the laboratory reporting limit in any module <br /> ' Diesel <br /> A node of diesel contamination was detected in the same vicinity as a high node of gasoline <br /> approximately 75 ft northeast of well MW-7 Additional diesel was detected on the <br /> ' southeast portion of the investigation grid dust west of the former diesel aboveground <br /> storage tanks (ASTs) A faint node is present on the west side of the study area in the <br /> location of module#402121 <br /> 1 <br />
