3 . If both the first and the second pump
fail to hold the water level in the
450 gallon tank down, the water level
will reach the third stage of the Kari
float switch which energizes the alarm.
(Figure 3-1)
4 . If both pumps operate correctly, the
level of the wastewater in the 450
gallon tank will drop to bottom of the
tank and the Kari float switch will de-
energize.
If the 450 gallon steel coated tank
leaks or overf lows, the wastewater f lows
to the secondary containtment.The sump
pump in the secondary containtment will
pump the wastewater back to 450 gallon
steel coated tank.
1. 3 Maintenance Route Frequency: Weekly
- Inspect 450 gallon tank for leaks and
damage. Clean the tank if necessary.
- Inspect foot valves, self priming
centrifugal pumps, and true union ball
valves for leaks, damage, and clogs .
- Inspect Kari float switch for obstruc-
tion of float.
- Inspect sump pump for damage and clogs.
1. 4 Troubleshooting Symptoms/Causes
------------------------------------------------------------------
Symptom Typical Causes
-----------------------------------------------------------------
450 GALLON STEEL COATED TANK OVER-FLOWS
Alarm is "ON" , self 1. If the pump does not operate OK, check
for air leaks in the foot valves, pump
housings, and piping systems.
3 . If there is no air leakage, replace the
pump for repair.
