I expect that is exactly when you are OUT -but I hope we
can connect. I will stay later than 3:00 if I know we can talk.
Waste generating process:
Our rinse stations in our washer area of the paint line are Stages (tanks) 2, 4, 5 and 7, each rinse tank
was tested separately. There are a total of 8 stages in the paint line and are as follows:
Stage 1 is Potassium hydroxide for cleaning the oils and dirt off of the parts; it is a spray wash heated to
170 degrees and is changed out 3 to 4 times per year. It is pumped into totes than hauled offsite by
Advanced Chemical Treatment.
Stage 2 pre rinse I and post rinse 2 is a rinse tankfilled with City-supplied water; the pre rinse and post
rinse are spray washes that are supplied by the stage 2 spray wash pump and drain back into the tank
We change this tank out on a weekly basis and refill with City water.
Stage 3 is a Citric Acid spray wash for removing scale and carbon from the parts; it is heated to 170
degrees and is changed out on a monthly basis, pumped into totes and hauled offsite by Advanced
Chemical Treatment.
Stage 4 pre rinse I and post rinse 2 is a rinse tank filled with City water that is a spray wash like stage 2
tank; it is drained and refilled on a weekly basis.
Stage 5 is a dip rinse tank that is filled from a Reverse Osmosis water system and has a pre rinse and
post rinse spray that drains back into the tank. This tank is changed out about twice per year and is
basically distilled water.
Stage 6 is the actual paint tank that the parts are dipped into and never drains at all; we clean and refill
with the existing paint being put back into the tank.
Stage 7 pre rinse I and post rinse 2 is a city-water filled tank that is a dip process; this tank is cleaned
and refilled twice per year both rinses drain back to the tank.
7/17/2009
