2.0 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> ' The project objectives were to further define the lateral extent of impacted groundwater, and to <br /> expand the groundwater monitoring capability at the site To achieve these objectives, two <br /> additional groundwater table monitoring wells (MW-5 and MW-6) were permitted, installed, and <br /> surveyed Groundwater in the new and existing wells was monitored, sampled and analyzed <br /> 1 21 Project Planning and Permitting <br /> Prior to initiating fieldwork, a site-specific health and safety plan addendum was prepared according <br /> to 29 CFR 1910 120 The health and safety plan included safety procedures, chemical hazard <br /> information, site safety officers, and a medical emergency location <br /> To install the monitoring wells, permits (SR#31534 and 31594) were obtained from EHD Since <br /> ' one of the monitoring wells was installed along Raylow Avenue, an encroachment permit (#4452) <br /> was obtained from the city of Manteca <br /> At least two working days prior to dulling, Ramage Environmental notified EHD so that any <br /> inspections could be scheduled Underground Service Alert was also notified to complete a utility <br /> clearance inspection (USA Ticket#433172 and 433183) <br /> 22 Groundwater Monitoring Well Installations <br /> To further rt er define the lateral extent of gasoline compounds at the groundwater table, and to expand <br /> the groundwater table monitoring capability at the site, two additional groundwater monitoring wells <br /> (MW-5 and MW-6) were installed northeast (downgradient) of the former UST system (Figure 3) <br /> 1 2 2 1 Monitoring Well Construction, Development and Elevation Survey <br /> On October 23, 2002, under the supervision of Ramage Environmental, Mitchell Drilling (C-57 <br /> License#672617) installed the two monitoring wells with a CME-75 drilling rig and 8-inch diameter <br /> hollow-stem augers Both wells were constructed to total depths of approximately 30 feet, and <br /> consisted of 15 feet of two-inch diameter, Schedule 40, flush-threaded and machine-slotted (0 020- <br /> inch) polyvinyl chloride (PVC) well screens, spanning from approximately 15 to 30 feet below <br /> ground surface (bgs) Blank PVC casings threaded into the tops of the well screens and extended <br /> to the surface <br /> 8 <br /> i <br /> 1 <br /> 1 <br />
