I <br /> RAMAGE <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL Sacramento Office <br /> Post Office Sox 869 <br /> Rancho Murieta, CA 95683 <br /> Tel (916) 354-3250 <br /> November 16, 2000 Fax (916) 354-1756 <br /> Mr Jeffrey Wong, REHS <br /> San Joaquin County PHS/EHD <br /> 304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> Post Office Box 388 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201-0388 <br /> Re Water Well Survey Addendum <br /> Former RINO Service Station, 1001 E Yosemite Avenue, Manteca <br /> PHS/EHD Site Code 18761, UST Cleanup Fund Claim#14281 <br /> Dear Mr Wong <br /> On behalf of Rinehart Distributing, Inc (former property owner),Ramage Environmental is pleased <br /> to submit to PHS/EHD this water well survey addendum for the above-referenced project The <br /> results of a preliminary sensitive receptor survey conducted by Ramage Environmental were <br /> documented in Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report, dated November 16, 1999 As <br /> directed in your letter dated September 28, 2000,this survey addendum includes a door-to-door <br /> inspection for wells within 2,000 feet of the site and sampling of all wells within 500 feet of the site <br /> I <br /> On September 12, 2000, Ramage Environmental collected a groundwater sample from the on-site <br /> domestic well using a small diameter bailer The water sample was transported in an iced cooler with <br /> chain-of-custody documentation to Kiff Analytical (Kiff), a state of California certified hazardous <br /> waste testing laboratory Kiff analyzed the water samples for TPH-as-gasoline, BTEX, MTBE, <br /> DIPE, ETBE, TAME,TBA, and 1,2-DCA by EPA Method 8260B The laboratory result indicated <br /> that none of these compounds are present in the on-site water supply well <br /> i <br /> On September 25, 2000, Ramage Environmental collected groundwater samples from four residential <br /> wells nearest the site Two of these residences(101 Raylow and 102 Raylow)use their wells for <br /> domestic purposes (i e, not connected to city water service) The other two residences (109 Raylow <br /> and It 7 Raylow) are connected to city water service and use their wells for irrigation only All of the <br /> water well samples were collected from hose bibs after allowing the water to run for at least 15 <br /> minutes Water samples were collected and transported in an iced cooler with cham-of-custody <br /> documentation to Kiff Kiff analyzed the water samples for TPH-as-gasoline, BTEX,MTBE,DIPE, <br /> ETBE, TAME,TBA,and 1,2-DCA by EPA Method 8260E All four water well samples were non- <br /> detect for all parameters tested <br /> On November 9 and 10, 2000, Ramage Environmental conducted the door-to-door water well survey <br /> Along Raylow Avenue and Mylnar Avenue, information was obtained directly from the residents <br /> Ramage Environmental also conducted a walking tour of the entire site vicinity to search for <br /> additional water wells A one-page written notice was delivered to each property within 1,500 feet of <br /> the site, asking for any information on water wells that may be located at these parcels <br /> Approximately 300 notices were delivered A copy of the notice is enclosed <br /> i <br /> i <br />
