� I <br /> Mr Jeffrey Wong <br /> November 16, 2000 <br /> Page 2 <br /> One operating municipal well exists within the site vicinity It is located approximately 1,600 feet <br /> southwest of the site, on Powers Avenue between Moffat Avenue and Yosemite Avenue Also within <br /> the site vicinity, one municipal well and one industrial well have been abandoned The locations of <br /> these three wells are shown on the enclosed map The Department of Water Resources(DWR)water <br /> well drillers reports for these three wells are also enclosed <br /> By interviewing residents, Ramage .Environmental identified a total of 56 domestic water wells along <br /> Raylow Avenue and Mylnar Avenue, between East Yosemite Avenue to the south and North Street to <br /> the north A water well exists on every parcel within this area, except for the residence at 150 Mylnar <br /> Avenue Of the 56 parcels with water wells, only 12 are also connected to city water service The <br /> remaining 44 parcels utilize groundwater as their sole source of water for household use In general, <br /> the residents were not aware of the construction of their wells DWR water well drillers reports were <br /> available for only two of these domestic wells(201 Raylow and 126 Mylnar) These enclosed water <br /> well drillers reports indicate that these two domestic wells range in total depth from 126 to 140 feet <br /> The locations of the 56 identified domestic water wells are shown on the enclosed map,and a list of <br /> the addresses with domestic water supply wells is included in the enclosed table <br /> Of the 56 domestic water wells, 12 are located within 500 feet of the site As discussed above,the <br /> on-site domestic well and the four domestic wells closest to the site were sampled in September 2000 <br /> On November 11, 2000, the other 7 domestic wells within 500 feet of the site were sampled All of <br /> the water well samples were collected from hose bibs after allowing the water to run for at least 15 <br /> minutes Water samples were collected and transported in an iced cooler with chain-of-custody <br /> documentation to Kiff Kiff analyzed the water samples for TPH-as-gasoline, BTEX, MTBE, DIPE, <br /> ETBE, TAME, TBA, and 1,2-DCA by EPA Method 8260B The results of this sampling are pending <br /> laboratory analysis All of the domestic well sampling and analysis results, and laboratory reports <br /> will be included in the pending report of the cone penetrometer testing and monitoring well <br /> installations <br /> Thank you for your assistance on this protect If you have questions or need any additional <br /> information, please call me at(916)354-3250 <br /> Sincerely, <br /> RAMAGE ENVIRONMENTAL <br /> !—/-� -1 ---� <br /> Joseph Ramage, R G <br /> Project Geologist <br /> Enclosures <br /> .
