d <br /> A total of 38 soil samples and all 11 of the groundwater-grab samples were labeled and stored in <br /> an iced cooler for transport with chain-of-custody documentation to Kiff Analytical, LLC (Kiff), a <br /> state of California certified hazardous waste testing laboratory (Certification #2236) Kiff <br /> analyzed all of the soil and groundwater-grab samples for TPH-as-gasoline, BTEX, MTBE, df- <br /> isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary butyl ether(ETBE), tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME), <br /> ' tertiary butanol (TBA), methanol and ethanol by EPA Method 8260B All laboratory analyses <br /> were performed on a standard turn-around <br /> ' At the request of PHSIEHD, one groundwater sample (from SB-7) was split and submitted to an <br /> alternate laboratory for analysis The sample was submitted with chain-of-custody <br /> ' documentation to CLS Labs (CLS), a state of California certified hazardous waste testing <br /> laboratory (Certification # 1233) CLS analyzed the gropndwater sample for TPH-as-gasoline, <br /> methanol and ethanol by EPA Method 8015M, for BTEX by EPA Method 602, and for MTBE, <br /> DIPE, ETBE, TAME, and TBA by Modified EPA Method 8260 <br /> 23 Water Well Survey <br /> To identify sensitive receptors in the vicinity of the site, Ramage Environmental performed a <br /> survey of water wells within a 2,000-foot radius of the site The survey included reviewing well <br /> completion reports at the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) office in <br /> ' Sacramento, contacting the local water purveyor, and walking the site vicinity to confirm the <br /> location and status of any identified wells <br /> ' On August 30, 1999, Ramage Environmental reviewed DWR's well completion reports for water <br /> wells located within a 2,000-foot radius of the site Five wells, including one located lust outside <br /> of the 2,000-foot radius, were included in DWR's records A map with the locations of these five <br /> wells, a table summarizing the well construction and purpose, and copies of the well completion <br /> ' reports are included in Appendix D <br /> On October 19, 1999, Ramage Environmental contacted Ms Diane Martin of the City of <br /> Manteca Department of Public Works, Water Division Ms Martin indicated that the city is the <br /> only water purveyor in the area and that water is derived from three operating wells in the area of <br /> the site (City Wells#3, 10 and 19) Only City Well#19 is located within a 2,000-foot radius of <br /> ' the site City Well #19 (identified as Well Number 4 on the map and table in Appendix D) is <br /> located approximately 1,500 feet southwest of the site City Wells#3 and #10 are located <br /> approximately 2,500 to 3,000 feet northwest of the site According to Ms Martin, the municipal <br /> well identified as Well Number 1 in Appendix D, has been abandoned and is out of service <br /> 10 <br />
