Installation Gude: Residential Advan Tee Systems
Y i
Step 4s: We recommend placing the AdvanTex pod to the
side of the tank. If you wish to install the pod directly over
the top of the tank, follow the tank manufacturer's guidelines
for backfilling the tank and place a minimum 5"thick layer of
compacted soil or sand on top of the tank in order to get the
required slope on the filtrate return line.
IMPORTANT. Because of tank buoyancy issues, if you do
install the AdvanTex pod directly over the tank conduct a
thorough buoyancy analysis.
Step 4b: AdvanTex pods come standard with predrilled
fiberglass tabs on the bottom comers and a set of antiflotation
flanges. The antiflotation flanges help prevent the pod from
"floating out"of the ground under saturated soil conditions.
The antiflotation flanges come with stainless steel bolts for
attachment to the predrilled fiberglass tabs. With the flanges in `
position under the pod, mark and drill 17/64" diameter holes in
the flanges to line up with the predrilled holes in the tabs.Use
the 1/420 x 1.25 bolts and nuts provided to attach the flanges to
the tabs.
Ste 4e: Set the AdvanTex pod in lace.An AX20 weighs
P P P
about 300 ib dry, light enough for two people to move by hand.
If moving the pod manually is not feasible, you can lift and set
the pod into place by slinging two wide truck straps under the
entire unit and lifting it with a backhoe.
Step 4d: If the soil is noncohesive or if there is less than 22"
of soil along the sides of the pod,you will need to pour concrete
over the pod's antiflotation flanges,to prevent the pod from
"floating out"when the groundwater level rises.The concrete o ;b
should be 6 inches d y and extend 12 inches awa from side of o `aa''
p.a, ;..-.
the pod.
Step 4e: Backfill a six-to eight-inch layer of soil around the E '
perimeter of the AdvanTex pod to prevent it from shiffing while
you make connections. This layer will also provide a bed that
will support the supply lines. I
Qa
NIM.KrX-AX-t 0 2004 Orsnca SystOMS*Inc.
Rev 11.04101
