Installation G.0 d e :ems dential A4f vanTojiO Systems Step 5a: Verify which mode your system will use and refer to the Riser Sizing Chart on page 5 to make sure you have the correct riser sizes for your application. For systems operating in Mode 1,the recirculating sputter valve (RSV)is installed in the riser over the tank's second compartment (or in the inlet end of the second tank in a two-tank installation). The RSV should be installed between the baffle wall and the pump system to ensure mixing of the return effluent. For systems operating in Mode 3,the RSV(duckbill model) is installed in the riser over the tank's inlet. The RSV must be installed so as not to interfere with the inlet tee. Step 5b: Verify that you have all the pieces of the RSV: the handle pipe,body,bracket, split-flow tee, stinger pipe, and RSV cage. The body and cage will be different depending on the specific RSV model. Step 5c: Most RSV brackets come preinstalled. If your RSV bracket is already installed,skip to step 5L If the RSV bracket is not installed,mark its position on the appropriate riser. Make sure you have adequate slope on the filtrate return line(1/4" per foot or 1.5"minimum)but do not go so low that the RSV interferes with the tank/riser connection. The PVC spacers keep the RSV body away from the riser so that the body clears the opening in the tank. Step 5d: Refer to Appendix 1 on page 18 for instructions on cutting a hole into the riser for a grommet. The RSV uses a 3" grommet,which requires a 3-7/8"hole saw. Install the grommet with the tapered side toward the inside of the riser. Step 5e: Lube the inside of the grommet and slide the pipe attached to the bracket through the grommet. Step 5L With the bracket as a guide,mark and drill four 5/16" diameter mounting holes in the riser.Be sure the bracket is"square"with the riser, so that the RSV body will hang completely vertical when installed in the bracket. ®2004 Drones Systemse Inc.
