Based on our investigation and review of literature, we believe that a disposal area of <br /> 2,500 square feet should be sufficient for the facility <br /> 9.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> Based on the information examined during this investigation, it is our opinion that the site's <br /> disposal field is suitable for use with a package treatment system at a maximum rate of 3000 gpd <br /> +� average daily flow,provided our recommendations are followed. San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department has required a package treatment system and report for the <br /> project. <br /> In summary, the water quality analysis indicates that the ground water contains a low level of <br /> total nitrogen. According to previous ground-water monitoring that had occurred on the site, the <br /> ground-water depth had risen to 5.31 feet in April 1996. Based on a review of the records, there <br /> is no precedence for a level shallower than 5.31 feet. The percolation rate of the soils below 2 <br /> feet were found to be fairly rapid. Because a waste water treatment system is being required for <br /> the project,the impact rapidly percolating,partially treated, effluent reaching the shallow ground <br /> water aquifer will be substantially reduced. <br /> Our recommendations for the project are as follows: <br /> The upper 2 feet of soil should be removed within the area designated for the sewage <br /> disposal field. This material should be replaced with suitable sandy soil with a <br /> percolation rate of less than 5 minutes per inch. Our office can provide <br /> +a recommendations for acceptable sand specifications and sources. The finished <br /> elevation of the sewage disposal field should be the elevation of the building pad. <br /> —Two MicroSepTec 1500 GPD sewage treatment systems or an equivalent system <br /> acceptable to San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department should be <br /> adequate to treat 3,000 gpd of domestic type waste water. <br /> —A filter bed type disposal area should be utilized with a disposal area of 2,500 sq. fl. <br /> —A grease trap should be considered to extend the life of the waste water treatment <br /> system and disposal field. <br /> o s <br /> 1,,jQt♦ <br /> in. <br />
