MONITORING WELL CONSTRUCTION <br /> The monitoring wells will be constructed with thread-pointed 4-inch inner diameter <br /> schedule 40 PVC casing No chemical cements, glues, or solvents will be used in well <br /> construction The screened portion of the wells will consist of factory-perforated 0 010-inch <br /> slotted casingscreen Should unconfined aquifer conditions exist then screen will be <br /> � ) q <br /> installed from the total depth of the well to approximately 10 feet above encountered <br /> ground water to allow for fluctuation of ground water levels <br /> The annular space opposite the screen 11 be packed with #0/30 Monterey sand to <br /> a point approximately 1 foot abov the sand as a seal against cement entering the sand pack <br /> i <br /> The remaining annulus will be backfilled with neat cement to a few inches below grade <br /> A cast-aluminum utility box with water-tight seal and PVC apron will be placed over <br /> each well head and set in concrete, flush with the surrounding grade <br /> i <br /> MONITORING WELL SAMPLING <br /> The wells will be developed before water sampling by surge pumping or other <br /> Ir I <br /> suitable method.
