i <br /> 14 Utility Investigation <br /> IPrior to conducting any field work, a survey of the site will be conducted to safeguard that <br /> subsurface utilities are not intercepted during the on-site activities The survey will be conducted <br />' using magnetic and electro-location methods Additionally, Underground Service Alert (USA) <br /> will be notified to locate off-site underground utilities <br /> 1 5 Site Restoration <br /> IAll construction debris shall be removed from the site daily and the premisses left in a clean <br /> condition The contractor shall restore the site to a condition equivalent to that existing prior to <br />' the start of work <br />' 2 0 TECHNICAL PROVISIONS <br />' 21 Protective Well Covers and„Wellhead Completion <br /> The existing vapor extraction wellhead covers shall be removed so that the wellheads can be <br /> modified to accommodate the underground vapor extraction piping Care should be taken not to <br /> damage the well casing or sanitary seal during the construction activity The 4-Inch diameter <br /> vapor extraction wells will require that a 4x4x2-Inch "T" fitting be Installed to connect the wells <br /> to 2-inch diameter schedule 40 polyvinylchloride (PVC) piping and still allow access to the well <br /> casing (Figure 3) Once the connection is completed, a 12-Inch diameter traffic-rated protective <br /> Iwell cover will be Installed in concrete and placed in a level position 1/2 inch above firushed grade <br /> with 4-6 inches of concrete sloped away from the well Neat cement shall be poured In the <br /> interior of the well cover to approximately 6-inches below ground surface (bgs) to protect the <br /> piping connections and restore the sanitary seal for each well <br /> I <br /> 22 Trenching and Underground Piping Installation <br /> IThe contractor shall excavate trenches from each of the soil vapor extraction wellheads to the <br /> treatment compound to contain the soil vapor lines vapor lines The trenches will be located <br /> 1434VES ICU 2 SECOR <br /> Job No NOOO$.W2-1I March 13 1995 <br />
