This letter report satisfies the requirements for <br /> Phase I of the Site Assessment Work Plan presented in the July 24, 1992 Canonie <br />' report. <br /> 1 Site Backaround <br /> In September of 1991 , three USTs were removed from an excavation and were <br /> replaced by three new USTs placed in a new excavation (Figure 2) Seven soil <br /> samples were taken from the excavation floor along with two soil samples from <br /> beneath the pump islands No groundwater was encountered during the excavation. <br /> f All sampling and testing was performed in accordance with the Tri-Regional Board <br /> Recommendations for Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation of Underground_Tank <br /> ites Augusl1990} and local county requirements. A summary of these chemical <br /> Jresults is given in Table 1 Soils from the excavation were stockpiled, sampled, and <br /> transported to Callahan Ranch in Red Bluff, California for treatment by <br /> aeration/bioremediation with San Joaquin County Public Health Services, <br /> _ Environmental Health Division's knowledge The analytical results from the stockpile <br /> samples are also shown on Table 1 .
