Four borings will be drilled at the
locations shown on Figure 2 using 10-inch diameter hollow-stem
augers Upon completion of drilling, a 4-inch diameter groundwater
monitoring well will be installed in each boring Groundwater is
anticipated to be encountered at approximately 20 to 25 feet bgs and the
. wells will be screened from approximately 10 feet bgs to 35 feet bgs
• Permitting The applicable permits for groundwater monitoring wells
wiII be obtained from the SCDEM prior to drilling
• Soil Selection and Analysis. Soil samples will be collected at 5-foot
intervals and will be sent under chain-of-custody procedures to a
California State-certified laboratory A minimum of three samples per
boring will be selected for analysis for total petroleum hydrocarbons
calculated as gasoline (TPHg) using modified EPA Method 8015, and
benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes, and MtBE using EPA Method
8020, and fuel oxygenates and lead scavengers (MtBE, EtBE, TBA,
TAME, D1PE, EDB, and 1,2-DCA) by EPA Method 8260
• Monitoring Well Development and Sampling. After installation, the
monitoring wells will be developed by rigorously surging the well over
the length of the screen interval and by purging approximately 10
casing volumes of water After well development, groundwater
samples will be collected and sent under standard chain-of-custody
procedures to a California State-certified laboratory The groundwater
samples will be analyzed for TPHg using modified EPA Method 8015,
BTEX and MtBE using EPA Method 8020, and fuel oxygenates
• (MtBE, EtBE, TBA, TAME, DIPE, EDB, and 1,2-DCA) by EPA 8260
077 42070 310/WKPLAN
