The "time -to -pump " alarm will be set based on
the tank being 80% full. The "Exceeding reserve storage level" alarm will be set based on the tank being
96% full. These elevations are set based on the Xerxes dipstick calibration chart for the tank. This chart
correlates the dipstick reading to a tank volume.
6. Provide frequency and how the tank and alarms are to be monitored, and operational records are
maintained per Section 10.10:
Operational records must be maintained
Staff will be onsite during all events to monitor the level alarms. If the "time -to -pump " alarm is triggered
the waste hauler will be contacted and scheduled to be onsite within 48 hours. A11 pumping events will
be maintained in a log book that will be maintained onsite. Association Staff will also note the dates of
alarms being triggered in this log.
7. In an email dated April 27, 2020, Department of Public Works requested additional information from KSN.
Please be aware comments and agreement from Public Works is required before EHD can consider
permitting installation of the tank in lieu of an OWTS.
Please reference Mr. Callahan's 5/21/2020 email stating that the project has Public Works' approval to
proceed.
8. If the tank is permitted in lieu of an OWTS, in addition to the installation permit, the facility will be placed
on SJC inventory for biannual inspection, where an annual Operational Permit (Program Element 4242) is
required per Section 10.11
Association staff have been made aware of the requirement for biannual inspections.
We appreciate your consideration of this information as part of the Association's application to the SJC EHD for
construction of the new holding tank system.
