01'
GLASS
Is
LIFE
17. SPCC Requirements for Onshore Facilit
§'1'12.8
17.1 Facility Drainage - §112.8(b)
Drainage across the Site would flow northeast across the location towards a sump located
northeast of the furnace building or to stormwater ponds. The Site is graded to prevent a release
from leaving the Site.
The outdoor transformers have concrete berms with gravel floors that should not allow rainwater to
accumulate.
17.1.1 Valves & Pumps in Diked Areas- §112(8)(b)(1-2)
The concrete containment surrounding the 180 gal Diesel Tank, two 1,000 gal Used Oil Tanks, and
four 275 gal Lubricant tanks, are not equipped with a drainage valve. Consequently, the
containment area is not drained by Owens-Brockway personnel. Accumulated rainwater within the
containment area is allowed to evaporate, removed by a vacuum truck to prevent discharge from
the diked containment area, or is discharged following the procedures detailed in Section 17.2.3 of
this Plan.
17.1.2 Facility Drainage from Undiked Areas- §112.8(b)(3)
Drainage across the Site would flow towards stormwater ponds. The Site is graded to prevent a
release from leaving the Site.
17.1.3 Culverts, Gutters, or Other Drainage
Drainage within the lower level of the manufacturing portion of the building is engineered so that the
drainage flows into an oil/water sump located in this area of the facility. Minor spills on the upper
and lower levels of the manufacturing area would be cleaned up or flow to and be contained by the
oil/water sump system.
17.1.4 Drainage Diversion System - §112.8(b)(4)
The Facility does not have a designed truck unloading area; there are lots on-Site utilized for truck
loading/unloading. Releases from the loading areas would be contained within the oil/water sump
system and/or the stormwater ponds.
17.1.5 Facility Drainage Systems - §112.8(b)(5)
Drainage waters are not treated at this Facility; therefore, this section is not applicable.
17.2 Bulk Storage Tanks - §112.8(c)
The oil storage tanks and the elevated storage tank are constructed and used in accordance with
good engineering practices and industry standards.
GHD I Spill Prevention,Control,and Countermeasure(SPCC)Plan 1085405 1 Page 24
