<br />2.COORDINATE LOCATION OF PIPING WITH OTHER TRADES ON THIS PROJECT.
<br />3.CONCEAL ALL PIPING IN WALL FURRING, PARTITIONS, ETC., EXCEPT AT MECHANICAL ROOMS.
<br />4.PROVIDE BALL VALVES ON WATER PIPE BRANCHES TO EQUIPMENT AND PLUMBING FIXTURES. PROVIDE ACCESS PANELS
<br />WHEN LOCATED IN FURRED SPACES OR ABOVE NON-REMOVABLE CEILINGS. ALL VALVES SHALL BE FULL LINE SIZE.
<br />5.SEAL ALL PIPE PENETRATIONS THRU FLOORS WATERTIGHT.
<br />6.PROVIDE GAS SHUT-OFF VALVE, UNION AND DIRT LEG AT EACH GAS CONNECTION TO MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT.
<br />7.DOMESTIC HOT WATER HEATERS SHALL BE SEISMICALLY SECURED TO BUILDING STRUCTURE WITH ADEQUATE
<br />STRUCTURAL SUPPORT WITH ANCHOR BOLTS TO WITHSTAND 0.29 LATERAL AND VERTICAL LOADS.
<br />8.PRIOR TO ANY SOLENOID VALVE, QUICK CLOSING VALVE, ETC. PROVIDE AND INSTALL SHOCK ABSORBER OF REQUIRED
<br />SIZE.
<br />9.PENETRATIONS OF RATED ASSEMBLIES SHALL BE FIRE-STOPPED. FIRE STOPPING SHALL BE AN APPROVED MATERIAL OF
<br />THE ENFORCING AGENCY.
<br />10.OFFSET VENTS THRU ROOF 10 FEET MINIMUM FROM AIR INTAKES AND 4 FEET FROM OUTSIDE WALLS.
<br />11.CONDENSATE DRAIN LINE CONNECTIONS TO MECHANICAL UNITS SHALL INCLUDE MINIMUM 4" DEEP "P" TRAP AND
<br />CLEANOUTS AT ALL OFFSETS.
<br />12.ALL MECHANICAL UNITS ARE SHOWN FOR REFERENCE AND COORDINATION ONLY. SEE "M" SHEETS.

<br />16. CONTRACTOR TO COORDINATE PLUMBING REQUIREMENTS FOR FOOD SERVICE EQUIPMENT. REFER TO PLUMBING NOTES

<br />FIRESTOPPING
<br />1. PACK THE ANNULAR SPACE BETWEEN THE PIPE SLEEVES AND THE PIPE THROUGH ALL FLOORS AND WALLS WITH
<br />UL LISTED FIRE STOP, AND SEALED AT THE ENDS. ALL PIPE PENETRATIONS SHALL BE UL LISTED, HILTI, 3M
<br />PRO-SET, OR EQUAL.
<br />A.INSTALL FIRE CAULKING BEHIND MECHANICAL SERVICES INSTALLED WITHIN FIRE RATED WALLS, TO
<br />MAINTAIN CONTINUOUS RATING OF WALL CONSTRUCTION.
<br />2. PROVIDE SPECSEAL SYSTEMS UL FIRE RATED SLEEVE/COUPLING PENETRATORS FOR EACH PIPE PENETRATION OR
<br />FIXTURE OPENING PASSING THROUGH FLOORS, WALLS, PARTITIONS OR FLOOR/CEILING ASSEMBLIES. ALL
<br />PENETRATORS SHALL COMPLY WITH UL FIRE RESISTANCE DIRECTORY (LATEST EDITION), AND IN ACCORDANCE
<br />WITH CHAPTER 7, CBC REQUIREMENTS.
<br />3. SLEEVE PENETRATORS SHALL HAVE A BUILT IN ANCHOR RING FOR WATERPROOFING AND ANCHORING INTO
<br />CONCRETE POURS OR USE THE SPECIAL FIT CORED HOLE PENETRATOR FOR CORED HOLES.
<br />4. COPPER AND STEEL PIPING SHALL HAVE SPECSEAL PLUGS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE PENETRATOR TO REDUCE
<br />NOISE AND TO PROVIDE WATERPROOFING.
<br />5. ALL ABOVE SYSTEMS TO BE INSTALLED IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS. 6.
<br />ALTERNATE FIRESTOPPING SYSTEMS ARE ACCEPTABLE IF APPROVED EQUAL. HOWEVER, ANY DEVIATION FROM
<br />THE ABOVE SPECIFICATION REQUIRES THE CONTRACTOR TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DETERMINING THE
<br />SUITABILITY OF THE PROPOSED PRODUCTS AND THEIR INTENDED USE, AND THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ASSUME
<br />ALL RISKS AND LIABILITIES WHATSOEVER IN CONNECTION THEREWITH.
<br />MEP COMPONENT ANCHORAGE NOTE
<br />ALL MECHANICAL, PLUMBING, AND ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS SHALL BE ANCHORED AND INSTALLED PER THE DETAILS
<br />ON THE DSA APPROVED CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS. WHERE NO DETAIL IS INDICATED, THE FOLLOWING
<br />COMPONENTS SHALL BE ANCHORED OR BRACED TO MEET THE FORCE AND DISPLACEMENT REQUIREMENTS
<br />PRESCRIBED IN THE 2016 CBC, SECTIONS 1616A.1.18 THROUGH 1616A.1.26 AND ASCE 7-10 CHAPTER 13, 26 AND 30.
<br />1. ALL PERMANENT EQUIPMENT AND COMPONENTS.
<br />2. TEMPORARY OR MOVABLE EQUIPMENT THAT IS PERMANENTLY ATTACHED (e.g. HARD WIRED) TO THE
<br />BUILDING UTILITY SERVICES SUCH AS ELECTRICITY, GAS OR WATER.
<br />3. MOVABLE EQUIPMENT WHICH IS STATIONED IN ONE PLACE FOR MORE THAN 8 HOURS AND HEAVIER THAN 400
<br />POUNDS ARE REQUIRED TO BE ANCHORED WITH TEMPORARY ATTACHMENTS.
<br />THE FOLLOWING MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS SHALL BE POSITIVELY ATTACHED TO THE STRUCTURE,
<br />BUT THE ATTACHMENT NEED NOT BE DETAILED ON THE PLANS. THESE COMPONENTS SHALL HAVE FLEXIBLE
<br />CONNECTIONS PROVIDED BETWEEN THE COMPONENT AND ASSOCIATED DUCTWORK, PIPING, AND CONDUIT.
<br />A. COMPONENTS WEIGHING LESS THAN 400 POUNDS AND HAVE A CENTER OF MASS LOCATED 4 FEET OR LESS
<br />ABOVE THE ADJACENT FLOOR OR ROOF LEVEL THAT DIRECTLY SUPPORT THE COMPONENT.
<br />B. COMPONENTS WEIGHING LESS THAN 20 POUNDS, OR IN THE CASE OF DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS, LESS THAN 5
<br />POUNDS PER FOOT, WHICH ARE SUSPENDED FROM A ROOF OR FLOOR OR HUNG FROM A WALL.
<br />FOR THOSE ELEMENTS THAT DO NOT REQUIRE DETAILS ON THE APPROVED DRAWINGS, THE INSTALLATION SHALL BE
<br />SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE DESIGN PROFESSIONAL IN GENERAL RESPONSIBLE CHARGE OR STRUCTURAL
<br />ENGINEER DELEGATED RESPONSIBILITY AND THE DSA DISTRICT STRUCTURAL ENGINEER. THE PROJECT INSPECTOR
