ALL PIPE PENETRATIONS SHALL BE UL LISTED, HILTI, 3M <br />PRO-SET, OR EQUAL. <br />A.INSTALL FIRE CAULKING BEHIND MECHANICAL SERVICES INSTALLED WITHIN FIRE RATED WALLS, TO <br />MAINTAIN CONTINUOUS RATING OF WALL CONSTRUCTION. <br />2. PROVIDE SPECSEAL SYSTEMS UL FIRE RATED SLEEVE/COUPLING PENETRATORS FOR EACH PIPE PENETRATION OR <br />FIXTURE OPENING PASSING THROUGH FLOORS, WALLS, PARTITIONS OR FLOOR/CEILING ASSEMBLIES. ALL <br />PENETRATORS SHALL COMPLY WITH UL FIRE RESISTANCE DIRECTORY (LATEST EDITION), AND IN ACCORDANCE <br />WITH CHAPTER 7, CBC REQUIREMENTS. <br />3. SLEEVE PENETRATORS SHALL HAVE A BUILT IN ANCHOR RING FOR WATERPROOFING AND ANCHORING INTO <br />CONCRETE POURS OR USE THE SPECIAL FIT CORED HOLE PENETRATOR FOR CORED HOLES. <br />4. COPPER AND STEEL PIPING SHALL HAVE SPECSEAL PLUGS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE PENETRATOR TO REDUCE <br />NOISE AND TO PROVIDE WATERPROOFING. <br />5. ALL ABOVE SYSTEMS TO BE INSTALLED IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS. 6. <br />ALTERNATE FIRESTOPPING SYSTEMS ARE ACCEPTABLE IF APPROVED EQUAL. HOWEVER, ANY DEVIATION FROM <br />THE ABOVE SPECIFICATION REQUIRES THE CONTRACTOR TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DETERMINING THE <br />SUITABILITY OF THE PROPOSED PRODUCTS AND THEIR INTENDED USE, AND THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ASSUME <br />ALL RISKS AND LIABILITIES WHATSOEVER IN CONNECTION THEREWITH. <br />MEP COMPONENT ANCHORAGE NOTE <br />ALL MECHANICAL, PLUMBING, AND ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS SHALL BE ANCHORED AND INSTALLED PER THE DETAILS <br />ON THE DSA APPROVED CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS. TEMPORARY OR MOVABLE EQUIPMENT THAT IS PERMANENTLY ATTACHED (e.g. HARD WIRED) TO THE <br />BUILDING UTILITY SERVICES SUCH AS ELECTRICITY, GAS OR WATER. <br />3. COMPONENTS WEIGHING LESS THAN 20 POUNDS, OR IN THE CASE OF DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS, LESS THAN 5 <br />POUNDS PER FOOT, WHICH ARE SUSPENDED FROM A ROOF OR FLOOR OR HUNG FROM A WALL. <br />FOR THOSE ELEMENTS THAT DO NOT REQUIRE DETAILS ON THE APPROVED DRAWINGS, THE INSTALLATION SHALL BE <br />SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE DESIGN PROFESSIONAL IN GENERAL RESPONSIBLE CHARGE OR STRUCTURAL <br />ENGINEER DELEGATED RESPONSIBILITY AND THE DSA DISTRICT STRUCTURAL ENGINEER.
