LOCATION PROCEDURE NUMBER <br /> DTE STOCKTON, LLC EAP-01 <br /> DTEStockton, LLC EMERGENCY ACTION PLAN REV: 10, updated: 3/2018 <br /> STATUS: FINAL Page 30 of 35 <br /> (a) Written Threats: Notes, letters or faxed messages <br /> (b) Electronic Threats: Telephones, e-mail, text messages, etc. <br /> (c) Stalking: Following a person on or off site, repeated contact when <br /> requested not to. <br /> (d) Harassment: Unwelcome acts, gestures, verbal communication, or <br /> physical contact not resulting in physical harm. <br /> (e) Overheard Threats: Serious threats overheard which are directed against <br /> an employee or sabotage to property. <br /> (f) Domestic Violence: Spouse or significant other calling and/or coming to <br /> the plant (unwarranted contact). <br /> 5. What to do if confronted By a Threatening Person <br /> (a) Leave the area and get out of harm's way. <br /> (b) Notify the Control Room Operator or Operations Manager. <br /> (c) Call 911. <br /> 6. What To Do If Unable To Leave Area: <br /> (a) Try to stay at a safe distance. <br /> (b) Barricade yourself in the restroom or an interior office in the Admin <br /> building. <br /> (c) Try to calm the threatening individual(s). <br /> (d) Try to get the attention of a co-worker so they can call 911. <br /> (e) Listen to the individual(s) and let them do most of the talking. <br /> (f) Acknowledge the person's feelings. <br /> (g) Be reassuring and point out choices. <br /> (h) Be respectful and empowering. <br /> (i) Use delaying techniques to give the individual time to calm down. <br /> 7. What Not to Do: <br /> (a) Upset the individual with language that generates hostility. <br /> (b) Reject all the person's demands from the start. <br /> (c) Make sudden movements. <br /> (d) Belittle, criticize or agitate the person. <br /> (e) Make false statements or promises. <br /> (f) Argue. <br /> (g) Ignore the situation. <br /> Emergency Action Plan—DTE Stockton, LLC <br />
