Immediately cease disposal <br /> of the absorbent, make a hazardous waste determination for the above listed wastes, and manage them according <br /> to Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how these <br /> wastes were managed. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> 106 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Failed to train employees on waste handling and emergency procedures. <br /> At the time of inspection, it could not be demonstrated that employees who handle hazardous waste were properly <br /> trained. The facility was remodeling and the fire extinguisher was placed in an area the employees were not familiar <br /> with. In addition,the training was incomplete on hazardous waste management and emergency procedures. The <br /> generator must ensure that all employees who handle hazardous waste are thoroughly familiar with proper waste <br /> handling and emergency procedures. Provide proof of training to the EHD for employees whose responsibilities <br /> include hazardous waste. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 110 CCR 66262.40(a) Failed to keep signed copy of manifests from the designated facility for three years. <br /> Copies of hazardous waste disposal records for used oil and oil filters for the forklift was not found on site. The <br /> manager stated that someone comes to work on the forklift and takes the waste back with him. The manager did <br /> not know who did the work on the forklifts or what he does with the waste. <br /> If the used oil is being taken with the service company,the following documentation needs to be kept for the facility <br /> to show that the repair business is following California Health and Safety Code Section 25250.12 under Article 13 of <br /> Management of Used Oil: <br /> -The amount of used oil generated showing that no more than 55 gallons is transferred in the vehicle at any one <br /> time. <br /> -The name and address of where used oil is being transported to. <br /> -The date the used oil is generated. <br /> Used oil filters need to be managed according to hazardous waste laws and regulations. <br /> Hazardous waste generators shall retain copies of all manifests signed off by the disposal facility and all receipts <br /> used in a consolidated manifesting procedure on site for three years and have them readily available for review. <br /> Immediately start keeping the correct records. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> FA0024425 PR0542525 SCO03 12/21/2015 <br /> EHD 22-01 Rev.09/22/16 Page 4 of 7 Small Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator OIR <br />
