Deficiencies could <br /> include: <br /> • equipment leaks, <br /> • equipment in need of repair, or <br /> • equipment being operated outside the acceptable operating limits which are <br /> documented in the written operating procedures. <br /> When a deficiency is discovered, a record describing the deficiency and the measures taken to <br /> correct the deficiency is documented on the rounds. Any device that can be safely returned to <br /> its specified conditions is adjusted duringthe performance of the maintenance or inspection task. <br /> If the equipment cannot be returned to its specified conditions during the maintenance or <br /> inspection task, then a work order is prepared to address the issue. <br /> 6) Quality Assurance Program <br /> 0-1 Glass, Inc. has established a quality assurance program which assures that: <br /> • When new processes are constructed or an existing process is modified, the equipment <br /> and instruments as fabricated will be suitable for the process application. <br /> • Appropriate checks and inspections will be performed to assure that equipment and <br /> instruments are installed properly and consistent with design specifications and the <br /> manufacturer's instructions. <br /> • Maintenance materials, spare parts and equipment will be suitable for the process <br /> application for which they will be used. <br /> Maintenance Materials, Spare Parts and Equipment <br /> The Maintenance Department ensures that all maintenance materials, spare parts and aqueous <br /> ammonia and anhydrous ammonia system components, including contractor-supplied items, are <br /> suitable for the application for which they are used and that any substitutes are equally suitable <br /> for the application for which they may be used. The following procedures are typically followed <br /> to ensure that the maintenance materials and spare parts are suitable: <br /> 1) Parts for machinery should meet original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications <br /> or be original manufacturer parts. The buyer of routine inventory replacement material <br /> or spare parts typically uses the manufacturer's part or catalog number. Substitutions are <br /> not allowed unless the proposed substitution is equivalent when compared with the <br /> design specifications for the original material. <br /> 2) If a part with different design specification is to be used (because the original is no longer <br /> Page 14 <br />
