BF - Project No. 09-6532
Sampling Areas
As required, sampling locations are determined by site conditions and/or the provided documentation
from the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SCJEHD). Potential areas of
contamination are divided into primary and secondary areas. The primary areas are described as those
where the actual processing (cooking) took place and/or where the storage of chemicals exists. The
secondary areas are described as those where migration from the primary areas is likely to have occurred
due to high traffic and ventilation.
1. Primary Areas Include: Processing or"cooking"areas. Areas affected may include floors, walls,
ceilings, working surfaces, carpeting, plumbing fixtures and drains, HVAC system. Selected
areas are as follows:
1) 100 cm2 wipe sample to be collected from the Modular Trailer Bedroom wall.
2) 100 cm2 wipe sample to be collected from the Modular Trailer Bathroom floor.
3) 100 cm2 wipe sample to be collected from the Metal Barn concrete floor.
4) 100 cm2 wipe sample to be collected from the Metal Barn sink counter-top.
5) 100 cm2 wipe sample to be collected from the House Kitchen floor.
6) 100 cm2 wipe sample to be collected from the House Kitchen counter-top.
2. Secondary Areas Include: Locations where contamination may have migrated, such as hallways
or high traffic areas.
7) 100 cm2 wipe sample to be collected from the House Living Room wall.
8) 100 cm2 wipe sample to be collected from the House Downstairs Bathroom counter-top.
9) 100 cm2 wipe sample to be collected from the House Rear Bedroom wall.
10) 100 cm2 wipe sample to be collected from the House Upstairs West Bedroom wall.
11) Control Blank wipe sample.
12) Water sample to be collected from the septic waste water system.
3. Suspected disposal methods observed at the site (e.g., dumping, burning, burial, venting, and/or
drain disposal):
A. Suggested disposal method: Off-site disposal (no signs of dumping and/or drain disposal
observed).
4. A description of areas and items that will be remediated in lieu of sampling contingent upon
sample results showing contamination are as follows:
A. Metal Barn: walls and ceiling.
B. Kitchen: walls,ceilings,and cabinets.
C. Laundry Room: walls, ceilings, and floors.
D. Rear Porch: walls,ceilings,and floors.
P.O.
