The following is an itemized list of hazardous waste violations that have not been <br /> addressed for VALLEY AUTO RESTORATIONS as of December05 , 2018 . <br /> Open violations from June 20 , 2018 inspection <br /> Violation #301 - Facility not maintained to minimize the release of a hazardous waste. <br /> Bondo dust from sanding was observed all around the sanding area coating everything . The manager states that <br /> he sweeps up the dust 1 -2 times a week . Facilities shall be maintained and operated to minimize the possibility of <br /> a fire , explosion , or release of hazardous waste to air, soil , or surface water which could threaten human health or <br /> the environment. Immediately clean the dust, and manage according to Title 22 hazardous waste regulations . <br /> Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this waste was managed . <br /> Violation #303 - Failed to maintain all communication or alarm systems , spill control , or decontamination <br /> equipment . <br /> The secondary containment in the used oil storage area was observed with free standing liquid (34 gallons ) in it . At <br /> the time of inspection , there were three 55 gallon drums in the secondary containment containing used oil . <br /> Spill control equipment must be cleaned , dried and readily available to be used in case of an emergency. <br /> Immediately begin this practice . Provide the EHD with copies of the disposal records for the waste generated . <br /> Violation #403 - Failed to keep hazardous waste containers closed except when adding or removing <br /> hazardous waste . <br /> The following containers were observed not closed : <br /> -one black and two blue 55 gallon drums containing used oil were observed with the bung hole open <br /> -one 55 gallon steel trash can containing bondo dust was observed with holes in the top of the lid <br /> -one drip pan containing used oil was observed open <br /> -one white 5 gallon bucket containing used oil and used oil filters was observed open <br /> All hazardous waste containers shall be closed at all times except when adding or removing waste . Immediately <br /> close these containers and ensure all hazardous waste containers are closed when not adding or removing waste . <br /> Immediately close the drums and submit a statement to the EHD when the violation has been corrected . <br /> Violation #601 - Stored hazardous waste onsite greater than 180 days . <br /> One 55 gallon steel trash can was observed containing bondo dust. The manager stated that the facility started to <br /> accumulate the hazardous waste in December 2017 when the shop first opened up . Facilities who generate less <br /> than 1000 kg of hazardous waste per month and do not exceed 6000 kg of waste stored on site at any time may <br /> store waste on site up to 180 days . Immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste <br /> under manifest and submit a copy of the manifest to the EHD . <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br />
