This arrangement will provide manure treatment in
the primary lagoon and effluent storage in the secondary. By treating the manure through
biodegradation, the two-stage lagoon system will reduce land requirements for spreading.
Rainwater runoff will be stored in existing ponds located to the west of the facility.
The design of these lagoons is based upon removal of settled solids on a periodic basis. The
scientific literature states that lagoon size may be decreased 25% if solids are removed year-round
for land disposal_ The dimensions of each lagoon will provide liquid detention for 120 days
during the winter months.
Clean-out will be accomplished with a skiploader. Ramps will be built into each lagoon to allow
skiploader access. Clean-out scheduling will be systematic so that only one lagoon dries out,
w•h:.c Water covers the remaining Iagoons, Fly and odor control may have to be implemented
during the dry-out period for each lagoon
oM n.p7:g «cr a are snm!n¢O as I"QQnrceentlsl p•operty of ow'Vin!'.,o•'nPi'erclusi+y use,Any publication or reproduction of statemen;g,eoncluslons or extrattg from or
; 'er?^¢"? N. -..r.aCt&r3 is te88rrtd,cart+ngQnt vper,the xrtttor?carne izat+on of Ooality GantYa4lnSpec;ion,Inc, ;
v
