NARRATIVE January 20,2005
SKS Enterprise-Gary Silva
Mr. Backus called Ms. Balestreri at SKS and told her that the chicken manure cannot be
spread on Mr. Bronson's land, since the manure would not be disced into the soil, and the
land is not specialized farming land.
On January 11, 2006, Mr. Backus spoke with Mr. Calderon by telephone. Mr. Calderon
said that he plans to handle the chicken manure in three ways: store the liquid manure in
a lagoon, compost the solid manure onsite and possibly hire Mr. Silva to haul manure to
Fairfield, CA. Mr. Backus replied that hauling manure offsite must be approved by EHD.
Mr. Calderon added that the manure was not currently being hauled offsite and no
agreement with Mr. Silva had been made.
Garrett Backus, REHS
Environmental Health Department
a
4
