a 1
Kith, Michael
From: Dan Purviance <purviance@comcast.net>
Sent: Monday, September 24, 2018 3:21 PM
To: Michael Kith [EH]
Cc: 'Nick Rajkovich'
Subject: New Castle Rd
Hello, Michael:
I spoke to Steven on Friday regarding the situation on New Castle Rd. While I can understand that the county will not
take responsibility for their requirements, that leaves us and our customer in a very precarious place.
Dan has repeatedly told all of those I have spoken to that he feels the well has a really good chance of caving in if we
blast it and then pull the column. We feel you and your supervisor have set the parameters of how this job must be
done, so the least you can do is tell us what you are expecting us to take responsibility for if the well caves in. Can you
give me any idea of what the county will expect if the well caves and we are not able to put cement in it? Can you lay
out exactly what you will hold us responsible for if we are unable to seal the well with concrete? It is possible that
blasting the bowls with C-4 will cause the well to partially fill in or maybe completely fill in. If there is no room for
concrete or say less than 100', what are you going to require to complete the job?
You can call me at the office if you would like to discuss this more thoroughly, but I need your answer in writing before I
can proceed with getting the permit and completing this job.
Paula Purviance
Purviance Drillers, Inc
1
