O. Box 30667
Stockton, CA 95213
Attention: Nick
To Whom it may concern:
On or about May 8, 2012, Purviance Drillers, Inc was contacted to check and diagnose the pump on New
Castle Rd belonging to Farmington Fresh. It was determined that the pump needed to be pulled and
repaired or replaced.
The following summary of the events resulted:
1. When we attempted to pull the pump,we found the pump was stuck in the well.
2. Second attempt to pull the turbine pump, the tube and shaft would not pull out of the bowl.
The tube and shaft broke at (+/-) 50 tons of pull.
3. The 10" Column which is usually good for 100 tons, pulled apart at less than 10 tons.
4. We were able to drive the pump down 18",then eventually pull up 30 feet before breaking the
Shaft approximately 30 feet below surface. This left approximately 120 feet of pump to pull but
It was to tight in the well to move.
S. The conclusion was the pump is un-retrievable. Probable cause is a casing collapse from
deterioration.
6. Rig and labor time to attempt to pull the pump from the well was 43.25 hours, and 13.25 hours
spent in the shop building special tools to aid in the attempt to pull the pump.
7. Our recommendation was to drill a new well as any additional retrieval attempts would result in
Increased cost with little probability of success.
Daniel Purviance
Purviance Drillers, Inc
