Kennedy/Jenks Consultants
Engineers&Scientists
622 Folsom Street
San Francisco, California 94107
415-243-2150
17 August 2000 FAX 415-896-0999
Ms. Margaret Lagorio
Environmental Specialist
San Joaquin County Environmental Health
P.O. Box 388
Stockton, CA 95201-0388
Subject: Request for No Further Action — 1210 Tracy Boulevard in Tracy, California
PACCAR Inc - Grand Auto Store No. 4025
K/J 000 109.10
Dear Ms. Lagorio:
This letter is submitted by Kennedy/Jenks Consultants on behalf of PACCAR Inc to request No
Further Action designation for a Grand Auto Store located at 1210 Tracy Boulevard in Tracy,
California. PACCAR, the former parent company of Grand Auto, sold its Grand Auto subsidiary
to CSK Auto (CSK) in late 1999. The subject store, now referred to as CSK Store No. 4025, was
included in this transaction. This request for no further action is submitted in association with
PACCAR's sale of the Grand Auto business to CSK.
The site assessment activities that have been completed at the subject store are summarized
as follows:
• On behalf of CSK, GeoTek performed a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA)
in early 2000. Five hydraulic lifts and a 3-stage oil/water separator were noted at this
store. The Phase I ESA indicated that the second lift from the west wall had been
previously replaced.
• GeoTek subsequently advanced three soil borings at the site. Two borings were
advanced adjacent to the oil/water separator and soil samples were collected at depths
of 4 to 5 feet below ground surface (bgs). One boring was advanced to a depth of 10 eet
below ground surface adjacent to the lift that had been repaired. The locations of the soil
borings are shown on the attached figure. One soil sample was collected from each of
the borings and was analyzed for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) using EPA
Method 8015 modified. The analytical results are summarized below, and the analytical
data reports are attached. Groundwater was not encountered during completion of the
soil borings.
g Ai s-group\admi n\job\00\000109.10_pacca N trsUa gorio0l.doc
