4.0 ACCIDENT AND EMERGENCY PROCEDURES <br /> If an accident or emergency should occur the following procedures should take place: <br /> ■ Remove hazard from job site or injured personnel from hazard—as long as your safety is not <br /> compromised by doing so. <br /> ■ Check extent of injury and determine if medical assistance is necessary. <br /> — If personnel is unconscious,having trouble breathing, chest pain, bleeding severely,has <br /> injuries to head, neck, or back, has possible broken bones or any other ailment that you feel <br /> may warrant emergency care,call for emergency assistance(Call 911). Give first aid until <br /> Emergency Medical Services Arrives. Call the Project Manager as soon as soon as <br /> possible. The Project Manager will notify contact, Health and Safety Director and all <br /> necessary parties. Do not contact client unless instructed by the Project Manager. <br /> — If injury is not in need of Emergency Medical Services,but is in need of immediate <br /> treatment, give first aid and transport to the nearest hospital. Call the Project Manager as <br /> soon as possible. The Project Manager will notify contact, Health and Safety Director, and <br /> all necessary parties. Do not contact client unless instructed by the Project Manager. <br /> — If injury is not serious and is not in need of immediate treatment, give first aid and <br /> personnel may continue to work if he or she feels capable of doing so.
