you decide.
From: Peterson, Jamey [mailto:Jamey.Peterson@arcadis-us.com]
Sent: Wednesday, July 21, 2010 3:53 PM
To: Mike Infurna [EH]
Subject: PG&E McDonald Island permit #059741 - 1181 Zuckerman Road, Tracy (Holt), CA
Hello Mike,
How have you been? You helped me obtain drilling permits for the PG&E McDonald Island site
back in April. You were also onsite for the grout inspection.
I will be returning to the site to complete the excavation portion of our work plan. In part of this
mobilization we will also collect a grab groundwater sample from the site. Originally we intended
to collect grab groundwater samples from 3 of the soil borings in April, however, groundwater was
not encountered at the total advanced depths. I have a couple questions about getting a permit for
our soil boring we plan on installing during the upcoming work.
Because the total depth explored in April was—8 feet bgs and advanced with a hand auger, we are
planning on utilizing a direct push rig for this mobilization. The direct push boring will be
completed to a total depth of approximately four feet below encountered groundwater with the
intention of intersecting the groundwater table. Based on how high the site was compared to the
surrounding land on the other side of the fence we are anticipating a total depth of approximately
20 feet bgs. We will set a temporary screen in the borehole and then collect the grab groundwater
sample.
For the permitting of this boring I will complete the SJC-EHD Well Permit application that will
include the Licensed Contractors Declaration. The application package will include the work plan
and approval letter from the Central Valley RWQCB and the Well Permit Application fee of$89. 1
am wondering about the Master File Record form and Site Mitigation Fees.
MFR: Since we were recently at the site, will you require the Master File Record to be re-
submitted?
SM fees: Are the Site Mitigation fees required if the site is already on the SJC-EHD account base?
Just want to confirm these loose ends before sending in the application package.
Thanks Mike.
