2.19 ac-ft 044 mg_N/L) 0 - 0.80)+(12.73 ac-ft x 0.1 ma/L)
Nr = (2.19 ac-ft+ 12.73 ac-ft)
Nr = 4.3 ppm as nitrate-nitrogen(NO3-N); 19.1 ppm as nitrate.
I
IV. O.W.T.S. OPERATIONAL PARAMETERS AND COMPONENTS
A. PROPOSED SEPTIC SYSTEM OPERATION
SSS§ 3.7. All influent originating from the three portable restroom buildings will travel through 6"
PVC lines to a 7,500 gallon septic tank. Since the tank will be between five and six feet below final
grade, a pump chamber tank with a Liberty® duplex pump system must be installed to lift the
effluent to a distribution box (D-box). The pumps will deliver the effluent into a 13 hole D-box
where the effluent will gravity flow into 12 - 100 ft long, 4" diameter perforated leachline pipes.
Tuf-Tite® Speed Levelers will be installed on each of the 12 outlets to ensure equal flow volumes
into each leachline. The leachline pipes will be laid level with the ends capped.
A Polylok® PL-525 effluent filter will be placed on the septic tank outlet before the effluent flows
to the pump chamber. The filter should be cleaned when the septic tank is pumped, and possibly
sooner. Details of the septic tank, effluent filter, pumps, D-box, and speed levelers are found in
Appendix G.
The 100%reserve replacement area is directly north of the primary disposal area, as illustrated in
the Site Plans.
B. SEPTIC TANK
Septic tanks store accumulated sludge, scum and effluent (clear zone) volumes, which in turn
affect treatment of nitrogen within the tanks. The proposed septic tank is to be a Jensen Precast
7,500 gallon tank, Model 3XJP2500 and is traffic rated.
The EHD calculation requirements for commercial septic systems demonstrate the 7,500 gallon
tank is sufficient capacity based on the Calculated Tank Capacity (CTC). The CTC is the
minimum tank capacity for an Average Daily Flow(ADF) over 1,500 gallons. The base volume
of 1,125 is added to 75% of the ADF:
CTC = 1,125 gallons+ (4,032 gpd x 0.75) =4,149 gals. Therefore, the proposed septic tank is
sufficient size at 7,500 gallon capacity based on EHD calculation requirements.
C. LEACHLINE SIZING CALCULATIONS
Lineal feet of leachline (LFLL) required is:
1,200 BTC +4,032 gals ADF x 0.225 clay loam soil factor= 1,177 LFLL.
To be installed: 12 LL x 100 ft/LL = 1,200 LFLL. Therefore, sufficient length of leachline will be
installed. I
Page -9-
Chesney Consulting
