MW-10 (Shallow)
This well will be located approximately 500 feet north of MW-1RD. It will
be drilled to assess the lateral extent of the COCs in the groundwater.
MSN-11 (Deep)
This well will be located just east of MW-2 and MW-5. MW-11 (deep) will
be completed in the second alluvial aquifer between the first and second clay
layers. Any piezometric level differences between this deep well and shallow
wells MW-2 and MW-5 would indicate vertical gradients existing between the
first alluvial aquifer and the deep aquifer.
4.1.2 Monitor Well Design and Installation
The logging, supervision of drilling, and completion of all borings and
monitoring wells will be performed under the supervision of registered
geologist or engineer.
The shallow monitoring well (MW-10) boring will be drilled using hollow
stem auger (HSA). In the shallow boring, soil samples will be collected every
five feet, or when geologic material changes, to the depth of the first clay
layer, and two foot into the first clay layer. Boring logs will be prepared
based on observation and description of the soil samples using the Unified
Soil Classification System (USCS).
Z:TROP-PRA 1999%1524-p\de1ivb1e\rpt-1524.Ldm
8
