California Bucket Program
The Management of Potential Hazardous
Material and Environmentally Sensitive Items
If the item is a hazardous material, it must be disposed of via a licensed
hazardous material hauler. Otherwise it may be donated to a
qualified organization.
For any of these options, the system will require the clerk to enter the
name of the company used. If method "Other" or "Trash Compactor"
is chosen, then explanation is required (e.g. empty container thrown
in trash). If method "Disposal Contractor" is chosen, the item must
be stored and segregated as instructed in OPTION STOP until
contents are removed by a licensed hazardous material hauler. The
full list of disposition options will appear on the screen, but only an
option that is permitted as indicated by the comments in
OPTION STOP should be chosen.
It is critical to understand that information keyed into this handler may
be viewed by regulatory agencies, law enforcement authorities and
management. Please ensure that all information is complete and
accurate.
