California Bucket Program
The Management of Potential Hazardous
Material and Environmentally Sensitive Items
1. Even though the full list of disposition options will appear on the
drop-down screen, only an option that is permitted as indicated by
the comments in OPTION STOP should be chosen. For example,
even though Trash Compactor will appear as an option on NSIE, it
will not be appropriate for many items.
2. Do not use abbreviations in NSIE. For example, do not abbreviate
the name of an approved organization that is receiving donated
items. Please be specific: a note of "church," for example, is not
sufficient. An exception to this rule, Johnson Control may be
abbreviated "JCI."
3. "Other" should not be used for items that are part of our recycle
programs. For example, batteries should be listed as "Recycle" and
the name of the recycler should be put in the comment section, i.e.,
"JCI."
ALWAYS CHECK OPTION STOP FOR SPECIFIC DISPOSITION
INSTRUCTIONS.
